From October 16 to 18, 2026, the 1st National Seminar of the Department of Children of the Seventh-day Adventist Reform Movement took place in Brasília-DF. Held on the territory of the Associação Planalto Central (ASPLAC), belonging to the União Central Brasileira, the meeting marked the department's first national initiative.
With the theme “Children’s Ministry in the Plan of Salvation”, the seminar gathered 37 participants and provided moments of learning, sharing of experiences, and strengthening of bonds among those responsible for work with children in different regions of Brazil.
Representatives of the four unions participate in the meeting
The program included the presence of the sisters: Sara Devai, from the General Conference; Alana Borges, from the União Central Brasileira; Beatriz Gomes, from the União Sudoeste; Eleny Bernardes, from the União Sul; and Laila Souza, from the União Norte e Nordeste.
Among the highlights were the testimonies and experiences shared by the participants. The reports highlighted the dedication of the departmental staff to the children's ministry and their commitment to the mission of contributing to the spiritual formation of children.
The exchange of experiences also made it possible to learn about different realities of the work carried out in the Brazilian unions, reinforcing the importance of cooperation and commitment to the church's mission.
Joint planning and leadership support
The realization of the seminar was the result of an initiative planned by the directors of the children's departments of the Brazilian unions, with the support of the respective presidents and treasurers.
The four unions jointly assumed the financial commitment for the meeting, demonstrating the importance attributed to strengthening the Department of Children.
Since the proposal originated in the União Central Brasileira, that union assumed the responsibility of hosting the event in Brasília. The organization also included the participation of Laila Souza, representative of the União Norte e Nordeste.
A milestone for the Children’s Ministry
The holding of the first national seminar represented an important step for the integration of the Department of Children’s leadership in Brazil.
In addition to bringing together representatives from different regions, the meeting highlighted the value of shared experiences and collaborative work for the development of the children's ministry.
With the participation of the four Brazilian unions, the seminar demonstrated that caring for the spiritual formation of children is a shared mission that requires dedication, planning, and cooperation.
The event concluded as a milestone in the department’s journey, highlighting the importance of national initiatives aimed at strengthening the Children’s Ministry and presenting the plan of salvation to new generations.
